WEST COAST SEAFOOD PROCESSORS ASSOCIATION
POSITION OPENING - DEPUTY DIRECTOR
The West Coast Seafood Processors Association (WCSPA) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Deputy Director of the association. WCSPA is a non-profit trade association representing shore-based seafood processors and associated businesses in Washington, Oregon, and California. WCSPA provides a variety of services to its members, including representation at federal, state, regional, and local government meetings; research; and communication with the public and the media.
POSITION TITLE : Deputy Director
LOCATION: Portland, OR - consideration also given to residents of coastal OR, southwest WA, and northern CA willing to work from a home office.
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, plus benefits.
DESCRIPTION: The Deputy Director reports through the Executive Director to the WCSPA board. Duties and hours vary and may include participating in fisheries management or scientific meetings as a representative of WCSPA, testifying before fisheries management or government bodies, researching and preparing written material for WCSPA members and staff, and assisting the Executive Director and WCSPA members at Pacific Fishery Management Council meetings. Considerable travel is required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work independently
- Good written and oral presentation skills
- Knowledge of fisheries management processes
- Familiarity with west coast fisheries, especially groundfish, crab, and sardines
- Good interpersonal communication skills
